At the Vocations Society of St Joseph, our core mission centres on praying for priestly vocations. Sharing sacred objects, like the chalice of the heroic Fr. Donal O’Sullivan, is just one way we do that. This chalice was entrusted to our Society by his nephew, after being carried onto the battlefields by Fr Donal during World War I.Â
To ensure that future generations are inspired to the priesthood, this chalice, with Fr Donal’s story, travels to different parishes and schools. Bishop Alphonsus (Phonsie) Cullinan is currently bringing it around the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore.
