A core aim of Vocations Society of St. Joseph is to pray for an increase of vocations to priesthood and religious life.
The only direct command the Lord gave to us regarding Vocations is found in the Gospel of St. Luke (10:2) where He said, “The harvest is rich but the labourers are few; so ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers for his harvest!”
With these words, Jesus makes His desire clear that we must actively pray that men and women be called to serve Him and the Church as Priests and Religious. One of our aims as members of the Church community and of Vocations Society of St. Joseph is to energise the entire parish community in praying for vocations, through our own activities and in collaboration with other groups. This can take a number of different forms, some of which are outlined below:
