The Sheaf newsletter has been at the core of the Vocations Society of St. Joseph since our very beginning in 1895.
Founded by Olivia Mary Taaffe and Fr. Joseph Darlington SJ, it began as an Irish adaptation of the French publication La Gerbe (“a sheaf of good works”). Its first issue launched a successful appeal to fund the priestly formation of a young student from Dún Laoghaire—sparking a movement that has supported thousands of seminarians over the past century.
Today, The Sheaf continues that vital mission: delivering spiritual reflections, news from our branches across Ireland, and stories of the student priests supported by your prayers and generosity.
